TFY: CH 7 EVALUATION
Evaluations are a type of opinion. Evaluations can be honest or manipulative, clear or vague, but their effects are powerful. A premature evaluation happens when we evaluate something before we had time to look them over. You shouldn’t mistake evaluative words as facts because they aren’t facts. Expectations influence our perspective as well as our evaluations. Word connotation can manipulate evaluations. Evaluations are used in journalism, propaganda, and advertising.
