CRCB: CH 8 ORGANIZATION
Organizational Word Clues (OWCs) show the overall organization of a reading that highlight the level of importance of certain topics. Textbook methods of organization are:
1. Listing
2. Analysis
3. Cause and effect
4. Comparison and contrast
5. Definition
6. Sequence.
You can identify methods of organization by looking for OWCs and patterns in the reading. When trying to recognize the organizational methods in longer readings you should figure out over method, confirm main idea, and search for word clues.
