Memory is your way of storing information. Sensory memory is the first stage of the memory process. Six strategies for improving sensory memory:
1. Read text aloud.
2. Draw pictures of information.
3. Act out chapter.
4. Visualize the information.
5. Touch the textbook pages.
6. Read while riding an exercise bike.
The next stage of memory is short-term or working memory. This stage is temporary and limited and usually be stored for several minutes. Chunking is condensing the information you have just learned and it can increase the capacity of your short-term memory. The final stage is long-term memory. In this stage information is permanently stored. Strategies for remembering long term are:
· Organizing newly learned information
· Mastering technical vocabulary
